The Mighty Oak
From an acorn the size of a small stone Sprouts a spindly stick, Boldly holding four large leaves. In time, the trunk grows wide And shoots towards the sky. Sprouting branches that reach for the sun. Towering above the rest, With leaves for days, Casting a shadow on everything below. Squirrels gather acorns from the broad canopy, While others fall in the wind Pelting the ground like hail. Standing tall and proud Sturdy, strong, yet adaptable. A reminder of the magnificence of nature. All from an acorn that broke open And took root - The mighty oak.
